Friend Request
A request to add someone as a saved contact, so you can reconnect later.
A friend request is a way to ask another user to become a saved, ongoing contact — so that after a good conversation you can find and message each other again rather than losing touch when the session ends.
On anonymous and guest-based platforms, adding a friend typically bridges from a throwaway session to a more lasting connection, which is often why registering an account is required to keep a friends list.
Sending or accepting a friend request is opt-in on both sides: it takes two people agreeing, which is part of what keeps it a meaningful signal rather than spam.
