TRUCHAT SAFETY GUIDELINES

Last Updated: 5/18/2026

TruChat is built for fast, anonymous conversations, but safety comes first. These guidelines explain how to protect yourself, how to use TruChat responsibly, and what behavior is not allowed.

TruChat is strictly for users who are 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18, do not use this platform.

1. Quick Safety Rules

Before using TruChat, please remember:

  • Do not share your real name, address, phone number, school, workplace, passwords, financial details, or private documents.
  • Do not click suspicious links.
  • Do not send money or gifts to anyone you meet online.
  • Do not move conversations to another platform unless you fully trust the person.
  • Do not send or request nude, sexual, illegal, violent, hateful, or abusive content.
  • Use Block and Report if someone makes you uncomfortable.

2. Anonymous Chat Safety

TruChat allows users to chat without mandatory registration. This helps people start conversations quickly, but it also means you should be careful.

People online may not always be who they say they are. Treat every new chat as a conversation with a stranger.

Avoid sharing:

  • Full legal name
  • Exact location
  • Personal social media accounts
  • Payment information
  • Private photos
  • ID documents
  • Family details
  • Work or school details

3. Links and Phishing

Be careful with links shared online. Scammers may use links to steal accounts, install malware, or collect private information.

TruChat may block links in chat to reduce spam and phishing risk.

Never enter your TruChat password, email, or personal information on a page you do not trust.

4. Password Safety

If you create an TruChat account:

  • Use a strong password.
  • Do not reuse passwords from other websites.
  • Do not share your password with anyone.
  • Log out when using a shared or public device.
  • Change your password if you think someone else has access.

5. Private Messages

Be cautious when chatting with strangers.

Warning signs include:

  • Asking for money
  • Asking for private photos
  • Asking to move quickly to another app
  • Pressuring you to meet
  • Asking for personal details
  • Sending repeated messages
  • Making threats or sexual comments

Block and report users who behave this way.

6. Meeting People Offline

TruChat is designed for online conversations. We do not recommend meeting people in person based only on an anonymous chat.

If you ever decide to meet someone:

  • Tell someone you trust.
  • Meet only in a public place.
  • Do not go alone if you feel unsure.
  • Do not share your home address.
  • Leave immediately if anything feels wrong.

Your safety matters more than continuing any conversation.

7. Content Rules

Do not use TruChat to send, request, promote, or encourage:

  • Sexual content involving minors
  • Nude or explicit images
  • Harassment or threats
  • Hate speech
  • Violent content
  • Illegal activity
  • Scams or fraud
  • Spam or repeated messages
  • Impersonation
  • Self-harm encouragement
  • Malware, phishing, or harmful links

Violations may lead to warnings, restrictions, shadow bans, account removal, or permanent bans.

8. Moderation Tools

TruChat may use automated moderation, AI-based checks, manual review, and user reports to help reduce unsafe behavior.

Our safety systems may:

  • Block certain messages before delivery
  • Stop links from being sent
  • Limit first messages
  • Detect spam patterns
  • Restrict suspicious users
  • Review reported accounts
  • Remove users from chats

No moderation system is perfect, so users should still stay alert.

9. Blocking and Reporting

If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can:

  • Leave the chat
  • Block the user
  • Report the user
  • Move to the next chat

When you block someone, they should no longer be able to message you.

Reports help us identify abuse, spam, unsafe behavior, and rule violations.

10. Parents and Guardians

TruChat is not for users under 18.

Parents and guardians should take steps to prevent minors from accessing adult chat platforms.

Helpful steps include:

  • Use parental control tools
  • Keep devices in shared spaces
  • Talk regularly about online safety
  • Review browser history and app usage where appropriate
  • Teach children not to share personal information online
  • Set screen time and device limits

If you believe a minor is using TruChat, please contact us.

11. Protecting Your Privacy

Use a username that does not reveal your real identity.

Good usernames:

  • Do not include your full name
  • Do not include your phone number
  • Do not include your exact location
  • Do not include sexual or offensive language

Remember: anonymous does not mean risk-free. Be careful with what you share.

12. If Something Feels Wrong

Trust your instincts.

If a user pressures you, scares you, threatens you, asks for private information, or makes you uncomfortable:

  • Stop replying
  • Leave the chat
  • Block the user
  • Report the user
  • Contact support if needed

13. Emergency Situations

TruChat is not an emergency service.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted person nearby.
