Your privacy is important. This policy explains what information TruChat collects, how it is used, how long it is stored, and your rights regarding your data.

By using TruChat, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

TruChat collects the minimum amount of information needed to make the platform work safely.

A. Information You Provide

  • Profile Data: Username, gender identity, age, country, state, bio, and status message.
  • Chat Content: The messages, images, and content you send to other users.
  • Account Data (Registered Users Only): Email address, encrypted password, and account settings.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device & Connection Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and language settings.
  • Usage Data: How you interact with the site, feature usage, session duration, and chat frequency.
  • Cookies & Local Storage: Used to maintain sessions, store preferences, and keep you logged in (see our Cookie Policy).

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to:

  • Provide and run the TruChat service.
  • Connect you with other users based on your filters.
  • Keep your chat sessions active across pages.
  • Detect and prevent spam, abuse, fraud, and illegal activity.
  • Enforce the Terms of Service and Safety Guidelines.
  • Analyze platform performance and fix technical issues.
  • Show relevant advertisements (if applicable) to keep the service free.

3. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

A. Guest Users

For users who do not register an account:

  • Chat history is temporary and generally clears when you leave, close your browser, or become inactive.
  • Guest profiles and basic session data may be kept temporarily for anti-spam and moderation purposes.

B. Registered Users

For users with accounts:

  • Profile details and settings are stored until you delete your account or change them.
  • Chat history is stored so you can access it across devices. You may have options to delete specific messages or conversations.
  • If you delete your account, your profile and login data will be removed from active systems.

C. Moderation & Safety Data

Regardless of user type:

  • Reports, blocks, IP addresses, and records of rule violations may be stored longer to prevent banned users from returning.
  • Chat logs related to safety reports or illegal activity may be preserved for investigation or law enforcement requests.

4. WHO SEES YOUR INFORMATION

  • Other Users: Any user you chat with can see your public profile (Username, Age, Gender, Location, Bio, Vibe Tags) and the messages you send them. Do not share private information.
  • Moderators & Automated Systems: Our systems and moderation team may scan or review chats, profiles, and reports to detect rule violations, spam, or illegal content.
  • Service Providers: We use trusted third-party companies for hosting, security, database management, and analytics. They only access data necessary to perform their services.
  • Law Enforcement: We will disclose user data, including IP addresses and chat logs, if legally required by a valid subpoena, court order, or emergency request involving imminent threat to life or child safety.

TruChat does not sell personal identifying information to data brokers.

5. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

  • Profile Editing: You can change your display name, bio, and settings at any time if you have a registered account.
  • Account Deletion: Registered users can request account deletion, which removes your profile from active public view.
  • Cookie Controls: You can clear your browser cookies and local storage to remove guest sessions and saved preferences.

6. SECURITY

We use standard security measures to protect the platform. However, no internet service is 100% secure.

Because TruChat allows anonymous connections, the biggest security risk is often other users. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and being careful about what you share in chats.

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

TruChat is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

If we discover a user is under 18, their account and data will be deleted immediately, and they will be banned from the platform.

8. INTERNATIONAL USERS

TruChat operates globally. Your information may be stored, processed, and transferred to servers located outside your home country (such as the United States or Europe). By using TruChat, you consent to this data transfer.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform grows. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated policy.
