Scam
A deliberate scheme to deceive someone out of money, information, or something of value.
A scam is a deliberate deception designed to trick you into giving up money, personal information, or something else of value. In chat, common scams include fake prize offers, romance scams (building fake affection to ask for money), and requests to move to another app or click a link.
Scammers rely on urgency and emotional pressure — a sudden crisis, a limited-time reward, a fast-moving "relationship." Slowing down is the single most effective defense.
Warning signs include anyone asking for money, gift cards, or financial details; pushing you off-platform quickly; or a story that keeps shifting. Never send money or share financial information with someone you met in chat, and report suspected scammers.
