Reporting
Flagging a user or message to the platform's moderation team for review.
Reporting is the act of notifying a platform's moderation team about a user or piece of content that breaks the rules. A report typically enters a review queue where automated systems and human moderators decide what action, if any, to take.
Reporting differs from blocking: blocking protects only you and takes effect instantly, while reporting can lead to platform-wide consequences (warnings, suspensions, bans) that protect everyone. Reports are how moderation teams learn about problems they could not detect automatically.
Because reports drive real enforcement, misusing them (mass-reporting someone out of spite) is itself usually against the rules.
