View-Once Media
A photo-sharing format where the image is destroyed after the recipient views it once.
View-once media is a way of sharing a photo so that it can only be viewed one time before it is permanently deleted. The recipient typically has to actively hold or tap to reveal the image, and a timer begins the moment it is shown.
The format is designed to reduce the risk of shared images being saved, reposted, or resurfacing later, since the platform deletes the underlying file after the single view.
On TruChat, View-Once media includes additional protection: opening a screenshot tool or minimizing the app during viewing destroys the image immediately, and the image itself carries a watermark identifying the viewer.
