Skip / Next

Ending the current random-chat conversation to be matched with someone new.

Skip (sometimes called "Next") is a control found in random chat platforms that ends the current conversation and immediately starts matching you with a different person.

It exists because random matching is, by definition, unpredictable — not every pairing will be a good conversational fit. Skip gives users control to move on quickly rather than being stuck in an unwanted conversation.

Using skip is a normal, expected part of random chat etiquette — it is not considered rude in the way abruptly ending a conversation with someone you know would be.
