Digital Wellbeing
Habits and tools that help keep your use of apps and online platforms healthy, rather than compulsive.
Digital wellbeing refers to the practices and tools people use to keep their relationship with technology healthy — things like setting time limits, noticing when scrolling or chatting has become compulsive, and taking deliberate breaks.
In the context of chat apps specifically, digital wellbeing includes being mindful of how much time you spend chatting with strangers, recognizing when a conversation or platform is making you feel worse rather than better, and knowing when to log off.
It is distinct from safety (protecting yourself from bad actors) — digital wellbeing is about your own usage patterns and mental state, even in conversations that are otherwise perfectly safe.
