AI Chatbot
A program that can hold a text conversation, simulating how a human would respond.
An AI chatbot is software that generates conversational responses, allowing it to hold a back-and-forth exchange that resembles talking to a person. Modern chatbots are built on large language models trained on huge amounts of text, which is why their responses can feel fluent and contextually relevant.
AI chatbots differ from anonymous or random chat with real people in one fundamental way: there is no human on the other end. Platforms that offer both should make clear which mode a user is in.
As AI chat features become more common on social platforms, being upfront about when a user is talking to an AI versus a person is an increasingly important trust and transparency practice.
